I'm finally back from China!  While I was gone, I missed my cousin's birthday so today we spent some time hanging out at Rose Hills by his grave.  It may sound kind of creepy but I enjoy going there watching the sunset, smoking stogies, and reminiscing on the good old times with him. Shawn would have been 32.  He passed at the young age of 23 when I was 18 due to bone cancer.  He was like my brother and I still miss him so much. Happy Birthday Shawn!

On a lighter note, hope everyone had a great weekend! Will post some pics from China as soon as I get them developed!

  39. what a beautiful post. and beautiful shoes. but for two completely different reasons as one is more tangible than the other. your cousin's memory deserves to be celebrated.

p.s if you figure out the twitter thing, could you show me the way?

  40. Hi,

I know there are multiple Rose Hills, but my best friend was laid to rest at the one in Whittier, California.

She was 17 when she passed away in the Metrolink Crash.

I can truly feel that you honor and appreciate the memory of your cousin.

    I really can.
    But...
this is just me (and I could be totally weird and strange and still dealing with my own grief but...)

I just wish that you hadn't posted this as an expose on your style.

I guess I personally have a problem with a grave, especially one that is where my friend is buried, to be turned into a photo shoot session location.

I don't mean to offend or anything, and I REALLY love your style (I subscribe to your blog and follow you nearly religiously), but...

seeing this made me feel offended, even when I probably have no right to be.

I just know that I would personally have problems if someone used my friend's gravesite as a photo shoot/fashion expose site.

    It's probably just me.

  42. @hyejong no worries I totally get it. I'm sorry if it offended you, but I guess I don't really want to consider this a grave site. It's more of a place where I feel like I can be close and hang out with him, hence me casually taking pictures there. This is what I was doing that day and what I was wearing; simply that. Not tryIng to exploit his death for more exposure on my blog; truly. Xox
